Age of Sigmar Lord Relictor...

Next up from the Age of Sigmar starter set is the Lord Relictor for the Stormcast Eternals. Another great miniature from this set to paint. Next up…. more...

Age of Sigmar Retributors...

Even though I really want to paint all the chaos models from this set first I just couldn’t resist painting some Stormcast Eternals so I decided to paint the Retributors and the Lord-Relictor, who’ll be in a future post. I am loving the new Retributor Armour base paint from Citadel. Easily the best gold paint they have ever created (which wasn’t too difficult...

Age of Sigmar Khorgorath

So of course I picked up one of the Age of Sigmar boxes for myself and decided to begin painting with the Khorgorath. At first I wasn’t really too keen on this model at all but after watching the GW video on painting him I thought he looked like a fun model to paint. I enjoyed painting this model and he took about three days to paint from start to...

SDE: Fae Alchemist and Wandering Minstrel...

Another two heroes for Super Dungeon Explore the Forgotten King. As much as I am loving the SDE miniatures, The Wandering Minstrel is one model in this set that I really dislike. His pose really makes him look a bit silly and he is leaning over slightly which makes it look even worse. He’s a character I certainly wouldn’t chose to use in a game based on looks....

SDE: Kunoichi Candy and Royal Warden...

Here are a couple more completed miniatures from Super Dungeon Explore: The Forgotten King. They are Kunoichi Candy and the Royal...

Cerastus Knight Castigator...

My latest Imperial Knight is this Forgeworld Cerastus Knight Castigator. I am showing it off now despite it still needing a base and transfers as I may not get around to doing these for a little...

Eldar Exodites Carmine Dragon Wraithknight...

I’ve been looking for something to use as a wraithknight for my Eldar Exodites army for sometime now and finally decided on the superb Carmine Dragon model from Forgeworld. I kept the conversion work simple by just adding the weapons and a few armour plates as I wanted to keep as much of the original model as possible as I’m such a fan of it. I know exodites mainly use dinosaurs instead of dragons but I thought for my army I will use dragons to represent the ‘wraith’ elements. I already have plans for a hemlock wraithfighter from the High Elf Dragon. In regards to painting this model, I wasn’t really sure at first what colour to paint it but it was suggested to me that I try white or light grey which I liked the thought of. It makes the model stand out from the rest of the army and I will most likely use the same colours for the other dragon...

Imperial Knight Warden

I have been working on one of the new Imperial Knight Wardens for the last week or two. He is finally finished and with my brand new backdrops from Hangar18 Miniatures I can finally show him off in all his glory. The ‘nebula’ pattern was created using minitaire ghost tints and I plan on doing a tutorial on this for the Bitzbox YouTube Channel very soon. The Knight is currently nameless but the house is likely to be called House Nebula due to the effect on the armour. I am going to have a Forgeworld Knight to accompany him but first I am working on something for my...

SDE: Brave Mode Candy and Mistmourn Shaman...

I’ve been working on a few more hero models from Super Dungeon Explore The Forgotten King. Here we have Brave Mode Candy and Never Lost Cola as well as the Mistmourn Shaman. As with all my my SDE models I have kept the paint scheme fairly simple on these...

SDE: Billmen and Frog Knights...

It’s very easy to just want to paint all the heroes from this set like I did with the original Super Dungeon Explore game but I thought I would paint the enemies from the quick start guide to go with the heroes I have already painted. These four billmen and two frog knights are identical models painted exactly the same in true retro video game...

SDE: Princess Emerald and Questing Knight...

So it’s been a while since I have worked on any miniatures from Super Dungeon Explore and with the release of The Forgotten King I now have loads more miniatures from this range to paint up so I thought I’d get cracking! My favourite character from the new set is easily Princess Emerald due to her steampunk appearance so she was the first miniature I painted up. The questing knight shortly followed and was painted very quickly due to mostly being...

Malifaux: Lilith Conversion...

It’s been ages since my last post but I have had this model completed for a couple of weeks now. My Malifaux painting may be on hold for a little while as I just received the new Super Dungeon Explore Forgotten King game, so expect to see a few models from that on the blog soon. I’ve also been working on some Khorne models for my Chaos Space Marines. Anyway onto Lilith. She is my first and only converted Malifaux model. I really liked the old alternative Lilith model but wasn’t too keen on her scythe so I replaced it with the sword from the current Lilith model. Her other hand is holding a knife from the Dark Eldar...

Malifaux: Sorrows and Poltergeist...

I have finished painting the rest of my Pandora Shelter No More starter set for Malifaux. The 3 sorrows and Poltergeist had a very simple paint job just using various blues and turquoise coloursĀ  instead of the traditional green. I may change the smoke from Pandora’s box to match these in the...

Plastic Bloodthirster!

As a massive fan of Chaos Space Marines and especially Khorne I just had to pick up the awesome new Bloodthirster from Games Workshop. I’ve been in a bit of a painting slump lately and this model has certainly taken me out of...

Emerald Aces Deredeo Dreadnought...

So I thought I would add some much needed firepower to my Emeral Aces Space Marine force in the shape of this Deredeo Dreadnought from Forgeworld. I found this model really nice to put together. He only has a really basic colour scheme with a few checkered patterns added to his knee caps and missile pod. He has some slight battle damage on him to show that he is a relic of the chapter. He also doesn’t have the usual gloss...

Malifaux: Candy

Next up for my Malifaux Neverborn crew is Candy. Again I’ve gone with the older model as I prefer it over the newer...

Malifaux: Pandora

Following on from my Baby Kade model is Pandora from the same Malifaux Neverborn set. Unfortunately my camera/lighting hasn’t given me my usual brightness settings for my photos but I hope she still looks reasonable in these photos. I decided to freehand a tattoo from her belly to her leg just to give the model something...

Malifaux: Baby Kade

I’ve wanted to get into Malifaux for quite sometime as I quite like some of the models. The original Pandora crew box has always been a favourite of mine. I’m not a massive fan of the newer version (although the sorrows look better). The first model I have painted from this crew is Baby Kade. I enjoyed painting this model as it certainly made a nice change from painting GW figures. I hope to have Pandora herself finished over the next few...

Tyranid Zoanthropes, Venomthrope and Spawn of Cryptus...

I picked up a couple of boxes of the Zoanthropes/Venomthropes boxed set when they first came out and recently I painted a few up. I have also painted up the Spawn of Cryptus from the Shield of Baal:Deathstorm boxed set. My Tyranid army is only painted to a very basic standard so I can paint them up very quickly. I’m hoping to get more painted over the next few...

Eldar Exodite Heavy Weapon ‘Platforms’...

The latest additions to my Eldar Exodite army are these heavy weapon platforms. I have not made any crew for these yet but wanted to show them off anyway. I have done a lot of research looking for ideas for this army and one unique idea I found was using the old Forgeworld Kroot Knarlocs as weapons teams. These were converted with the heads replaced from the Dark Elves Hydra kit. A few Eldar pieces, weapons and green stuff completed them. I may come back to them in the future to improve on the smaller...

Forgeworld Calas Typhon

I’ve had the model of Calas Typhon from the Forgeworld Horus Heresy collectors series sitting around for a while now. After watching a tutorial about painting a white marble effect I wanted to try it out myself so I used this model to experiment on. I’m really happy with the end result on the armour. Once the armour was completed I managed to paint the rest of him fairly quickly. There’s a lot of details on this model and it’s base but most of it is either armour or metal which made painting him a lot...

Khorne Dogs Part 3: Juggernauts!...

So to go with my lord on Juggernaut will be several Juggernauts of Khorne which will count as Thunderwolf Calvary. In total I have six of them, two of which have lightning claws, two have axes and storm shields andĀ  two will have power fists and storm shields. These are the first three that I have completed....

Games & Gears Ichiban Studios Pro Line Brushes Unboxing and Review...

In this video I unbox and review the Games & Gears Ichiban Studios Pro Line Brushes and Brush Soap

Nurgle Putrid Blightkings…. on round bases?...

Here are some of the new Nurgle Putrid Blightking models that I recently finished painting. I love these models but I do not collect Chaos in Warhammer Fantasy so I thought I would use them in 40K instead. They may be used to represent Nurgle Spawn or something from the renegades list such as Brutes or Orgryns. They are smaller than Ogryns but are on the same size base so should still work. I enjoyed painting these models but I’m glad to finally have them...

Ork Flash Gitz

So I’ve had these sitting half painted since they were first released so I thought I would finish up my Ork Flash Gitz. My Ork army isn’t an army I enjoy painting too much and the level of painting I apply on them probably shows that. That said I am happy that these are done. There are the odd couple of details I could put extra work into but that will have to wait for another time. The heads on these flash gitz were from the Kromlech Ork Punk set of heads....

Khorne Dogs Part 2: The Lord...

In the second part of my Chaos Khorne army using Space Wolves rules I am showcasing my Chaos/Wolf Lord. This guy can be used for both regular Chaos Space Marines or as part of this Space Wolves list. When using the Space Wolves list he counts as a Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf with Black Death. I may add an optional storm shield to him also in the...

Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead...

It’s been a little quiet on the blog over the last few weeks due to me working on some larger projects. No sooner had I finished my Dread Saurian that I moved straight onto Nagash. He’s taken a couple of weeks but he’s finally...

Tomb Kings Colossus Conversion...

I’ve decided to start painting up some more of my Tomb Kings army after a bit of a hiatus. This army is only being painted to a basic tabletop quality level as I really don’t wish to spend too much time on them, especially with so many infantry models in the army. Although I’m not entirely happy or proud of the painting for this model I am quite happy with the conversion work which is why I’m showing it off. The Colossus was made using a regular Warhammer Giant as it’s base. Some parts from the Necrosphinx were used for it’s head, chest and shin plates. His weapons are made out of an Eldar Wraithlord sword and a High Elf Repeater Bolt Thrower. I covered up the remaining parts with greenstuff to give him a mummified...

Eldar Exodites Dread Saurian – Scorpion Super Heavy Tank...

Updates have been a little slow recently due to me working on one of the largest models I have ever had the pleasure to paint. This is a Forgeworld Dread Saurian that I have added some Eldar parts and weapons to so it can be used as a Scorpion Super Heavy Tank for my Eldar Exodites army. This is so big that I had to use a warhammer fantasy movement tray for his base. The basecoats for the skin and the large horns were airbrushed with some glazes and drybrushing applied after. The rest of the model was painted by brush. I tried to use as few colours as I could get away with for something so large but I kept the Eldar additions orange to match the rest of the armies...

Khorne Dogs Part 1: Murderfang and Blood Claws...

With the release of the new Space Wolves codex I was immediately tempted to make a Khorne army based on their rules. I had heard of people doing this before and after reading the codex I knew I could make a list that would feel Khornate and play the way Khorne should, even more so than a Khorne army made with the Chaos Space Marine book. Plus the thought of Juggernaut riders counting as Thunderwolf Cavalry is just too cool to pass up (you’ll see them in the future). The first models for this army that I have painted are a squad of blood claws, made using various Forgeworld parts and a Murderfang made from the World Eaters contemptor dreadnought, also from Forgeworld. I wanted the blood claws to have a bit more of a gladiatorial feel to them, and based their appearance of this model from the Chaos Fantasy...
